SOS-UK's Learning Academy is here to empower both staff and students with the knowledge and skills necessary to drive sustainability and climate action within their institutions. With a wealth of knowledge and experience, our team has successfully delivered hundreds of training workshops, educating thousands of learners through our engaging sessions. Read on to see how we can support your learning and development needs!

Our training offerings

We offer a diverse range of training sessions designed to meet the needs of higher and further education institutions and off-campus organisations. These include, but are not limited to:

  • Carbon Literacy Training: This popular course offers an introduction to the science of climate change, its social and environmental impacts, and strategies for taking meaningful action. Participants will develop a toolkit to effectively address and communicate climate change and will be supported to apply for verified Carbon Literacy Certification as a result.
  • Sustainable Students: Tailored for students, this session explores the concept of sustainability and actionable steps for how students can promote it within their institutions. The workshops are customised to align with each institution's sustainability initiatives and priorities.
  • Education for Sustainability: Aimed at educators and academic staff, these workshops delve into integrating sustainability into curricula, ensuring that climate education is embedded across all disciplines.
  • Bespoke training sessions: We can offer customised training sessions on various sustainability topics. From Biodiversity to campaigning to decolonising - we can develop and deliver content that addresses your specific challenges and objectives.

SOS-UK is an IEMA training partner, and many of our staff are IEMA-registered trainers. You can rest assured that you’ll receive high quality training appropriate to your audience.

Flexible delivery options

Recognising the differing needs and culture of each organisation we work with, we offer flexible delivery options. Our professional team has extensive experience delivering and facilitating in different settings and to different audiences.

  • Online training: We provide engaging and interactive virtual sessions to accommodate different schedules and locations.
  • In-person workshops: For a more hands-on experience, our trainers can conduct sessions on-site.
  • Varying lengths: From 30 minutes to full-day, we can create impactful sessions that fit the availability of your teams.
  • Small or large groups: Whether you’d like to train up 5 or 500 people, we can create a training package to suit. We can advise on suitable length and group sizes to maximise engagement for attendees.

Our Learning Academy sessions are created and delivered just for you – only your staff and students will be in the training room to make it locally relevant and build a sense of community.

Working with SOS-UK is an ethical and affordable choice

As a not-for-profit charity, our mission is to make high-quality sustainability education accessible to all, so we offer our training programmes at affordable prices. Our training sessions start from as little as £370.

We are committed to the accessibility of our training delivery. We consciously design inclusive content and are able to provide different formats to support learners’ needs. We ensure that diverse perspectives are included in our content, and that climate justice is woven into our sessions as much as possible, creating a holistic and equitable approach to sustainability topics.
