Supporting Mental Health Awareness week

Students for Trees are supporting Mental Health Awareness Week (13-19 May) and we would like to support you by giving out small grants!

As part of Students for Trees, we will be offering small grants to our Tree Charter Branches to encourage students to enjoy the outdoors during this week.

There is a lot of research highlighting that time spent in nature can reduce mental and physical health risks. Natural England's report on the link between natural environments and mental health says that time spent in nature can help to alleviate stress and depression, improve our mood and help our minds restore.

As this week falls into many institutions exam period, we want to support you to run events encouraging students to take a break and enjoy time in nature.

Steps for funding

Become a Tree Charter Branch - we are only able to fund societies, students' unions and universities who have registered to become a Tree Charter Branch. You can register here and see who else is part of the network here.
