SOS-UK's support offer 2023-24: strengthening sustainability in universities and colleges
We are excited to launch our latest university and college sustainability support package to education institutions across the country! Our range of programmes, projects, and campaigns provide the resource and expertise you need to embed sustainability in all areas of your institution.
In 2023-24, we will be offering a range of tried-and-tested sustainability and wellbeing programmes to support you to progress your local sustainability strategy. More than 60% of UK universities worked with us in 2022-23, and we are looking forward to building on these partnerships across the sector in 2023-24 to create a more just and sustainable future for all. SOS-UK is a charity so everything we do is not-for-profit, making us an affordable and ethical choice.
We understand that every institution is different, so our offer includes a diverse range of programmes focusing on student and staff engagement, education and curriculum, behaviour change, carbon reduction, wellbeing, and biodiversity. Wherever you need support, we have something to offer, led by our expert team and underpinned by our sector-leading research. We’ve highlighted the benefits of each programme in our offer document to help you decide which programmes will bring the most value to your work. We also offer consultancy if you have a specific project in mind that isn’t listed.
What’s new for 2023-24?
- A brand-new toolkit software for our well-established programmes including Green Impact, Responsible Futures, the Fairtrade University & College award, Drug & Alcohol Impact, and Hedgehog Friendly Campus. The new software will make it easier for participants of these programmes to find and take positive action, as well as providing a better user experience.
- A new sustainability curriculum mapping methodology with University of Liverpool Management School (ULMS) in which we work with students to map their own experience of teaching and learning in their modules weekly over the year.
- It’s now easier for you to engage students in residences, with standalone options for recycling audits, wellbeing & biodiversity action weeks, and support for students in the private rented sector, as well as our well-established year-long residence engagement programme.
