Registration for the Student Sustainability Summit is now open!
Registration for the Student Sustainability Summit 2017 is now open! And this year it's a two-for-one; our sustainable food Student Eats conference is the day before.
The NUS Student Sustainability Summit is upon us. It's one of the year's biggest gatherings of students and students' union staff devoted to all things 'sustainability'. And this year, it coincides with the Student Eats Conference, so delegates get a double whammy of ethical and environmental workshops and talks.
The Student Sustainability Summit, at Coventry Students' Union on 8th November 2017, will be a day of learning, engaging and collaborating to build capacity and skills relating to a wide variety of issues. Here are just a few of the workshops on offer:
- A practical guide to community organising
- Connecting the dots - sustainability and liberation
- Tackling food waste on campus
- Divestment on campus and beyond
Have a look at the full programme, and vote for your ideal sessions to fill the gaps. We want the day to match your interests and meet your needs - so we're enlisting democracy to decide some of the workshops.
This year's Student Sustainability Summit is extra special as it's preceded by our Student Eats Conference. Also at Coventry Students' Union, the day before - on 7th November - we are holding the nation's biggest event devoted to students and sustainable food growing and enterprise. Join us for a day of talks, tasters and workshops. We'll have talks from Toast Ale, who make beer from surplus bread, and Get Wonky, who produce fruit juices from unconventionally shaped produce; workshops on preserving and food growing - and a whole lot more!
Having these two rare opportunities side-by-side hopefully means you'll be able to attend both - and there's a discount for those who do.
Both events are tailored for students' union staff, officers or students with an interest in sustainability. Some unions are also sending their environmental committee.
