Meet the teams making a Green Impact this festive period
The festive season is a great time of year for teams to complete Green Impact tasks in a fun and social way. Here are some of our favourite activities we've heard about this year.
At the University of Chester, The Riverside Learning and Information Services Green Impact team made Christmas decorations from recycled materials. Their handcrafted creations have been offered for free to students, who were also given the chance to make their own.
The University of Essex's Green Impact team decided to alter the conventional consumerist approach to 'secret Santa', by running a sustainable version. Look at those lovely gifts!
The Faculty of Humanities at the University of Manchester have taken not just one Green Impact activities but 12, in their '12 days of Christmas' series - with each day relating to a specific toolkit action.
At the University of Bournemouth, the Green Impact knows well that food is an ideal way to bring people together for a good cause. Their fundraiser lunch raised money for the Trussell Trust, an NGO and charity coordinating a network of UK foodbanks.
Finally, at the University of Cambridge's Earth Sciences team went down a cosy, energy-saving route, bringing out their Christmas jumpers for a stylish 'thermal Thursday'.
We love to see what's happening within local Green Impact teams and projects so do remember to tweet @NUS_sustainable #GreenImpact throughout the year!
